How it works
- 1
Add a document
Take a photo, or upload a PDF or a scan of your passport, driver’s license or insurance policy.
- 2
Unidy reads the expiry date
It recognizes the kind of document and reads its expiry date. You check once that the date is right.
- 3
Choose how far ahead to be reminded
By default, the reminder comes six months before a document expires. You can change how far ahead, once, for all your documents.
- 4
Get your reminder
It arrives on its own, by app notification and email, in time to renew without the rush.
You choose which documents get a reminder, and when.
You decide
- How far ahead Unidy reminds you: 6 months by default, or the time you choose.
- Which documents you keep: yours, your children’s and your pets’.
- Which family members can see each document.
Good to know
- Reminders arrive on their own, by app notification and by email.
- Unidy finds the date on many documents, like a passport. On any other, set it once yourself.
- Reminders are free, for every document you keep.
Questions people ask
Which documents get reminders?
Any document with an expiry or renewal date: passports, ID cards, driver’s licenses, insurance policies, warranties or a pet’s vaccine certificate.
How far ahead will Unidy remind me?
Six months before, by default. You choose how far ahead.
Do I have to type in the expiry dates?
Usually not. Unidy finds the expiry date on many documents, like a passport, when you add them. On any other, set the date once. Then Unidy sends the reminder on its own.
Can I get reminders for my children’s documents?
Yes. Each child gets their own Unidy, run by their parents or guardians. Their passports get reminders too.
What file formats can I add?
Any document, in any format: PDF, photos (including iPhone HEIC), Word, Excel or scans. One document holds as many files as it needs, like the five pages of a contract you photographed.
Can I note what a renewal costs?
Yes. Add what a policy or subscription costs, encrypted like everything else. Reminders show the date, never the price, so nothing private shows on your lock screen.
What about my pet’s vaccines?
Your pet gets its own Unidy, looked after by you and anyone else who cares for it. Its vaccine certificates get reminders like any other document.
Is a Unidy reminder just a calendar reminder?
No. The reminder is part of the document: Unidy reads the date from it, and when the time comes, the document is right there to renew it or share it.
Are reminders free?
Yes. Reminders by notification and email are free, and so is 1 GB of space for your documents.
