Unidy Live Documents
Your documents come to life.
Your passport reminds you before it expires. A copy you share stops opening on its own. Not another cloud drive: Keep every important document encrypted, each with its own key. Unidy reads its expiry date, or you set it, and reminds you before it expires. Share the whole document, some pages or a few details, like your name and photo, as a protected copy made just for the person who asked: their name on it, a PIN to open it, an end date, and every opening logged.
Free for good. No credit card.
Dropbox and Google Drive send the whole original file. Unidy sends a protected copy.
Dropbox and Google Drive are made to store and sync all your files. Unidy is made for your important documents, like your passport or your lease, and for sharing them with a PIN, an end date and a record of every opening.

How it works
- 1
Keep any document
Any document, in any format. One document holds every file it needs: photograph the five pages of a contract and they stay together.
- 2
Get reminded before a document expires
Unidy reads the expiry date on many documents, like a passport, and you can set one on any other. The reminder arrives by app notification and email, 6 months before by default.
- 3
Share only the pages or details needed
Send the whole document, some pages or only some details, like your name and photo. Any person or organization can open it, with or without a Unidy account.
- 4
See every opening, and end access any time
Every opening is logged: when, roughly where, on what device. The shared copy stops opening on its own at its end date, or end access sooner and the copy is deleted at once.
In everyday life
Examples of how people use it.
Karen is planning a family trip to Mexico
Unidy reminds her on its own, months ahead, that her son’s passport is about to expire. She renews it long before the trip.
Marcus is renting his first apartment in Atlanta
The landlord needs to see his ID card. Marcus shares a copy with the landlord’s name across it that stops opening after a week, and sees when it’s opened.
Dorothy’s dishwasher breaks
She finds the receipt and the warranty in her Unidy and sends the store a copy. No digging through drawers.
What you decide when you share a document, and what Unidy can’t do.
You decide
- What each person sees: the whole document, some pages or only some details.
- How long the other person can open what you shared: 7 days at most, and how many times.
- Whether the recipient’s name goes across the copy you share. It’s on by default.
- When the other person’s access ends. End it, and their copy is deleted at once.
- How far ahead Unidy reminds you before a document expires: 6 months by default.
Good to know
- Each time you share a document, Unidy makes a protected copy for one recipient, a person, a company or a government office, with their name, a PIN, an end date and every opening logged. Your original stays in your Unidy.
- Ending access cannot take back a copy someone already downloaded, printed or photographed.
- Unidy finds the expiry date on many documents. On any other, set it once yourself.
- Children and pets can have their own Unidy account, managed by their parents or guardians.
Questions people ask
Isn’t Unidy just Dropbox or Google Drive?
No. Dropbox and Google Drive hand over the whole original file you uploaded. Unidy never does. On a personal Google account, a Drive link has no password and no end date, and it never tells you who opened it. Dropbox adds those only on its paid Standard plan and up. From Unidy, the other person gets a copy made just for them: their name across every page, a PIN, an end date of 7 days at most, and every opening logged. Free, every time. And Unidy knows when your passport expires. Your cloud drive doesn’t.
Which documents can I keep?
Any document: passports, driver’s licenses, insurance policies, warranties, contracts, receipts, your pet’s vaccines, your kids’ school reports, and anything else. In any format, and one document holds as many files as it needs.
Does the person I share a document with need Unidy?
No. You can share with any person or organization. They open it from a link or a QR code, with the PIN if there is one.
Can I share only part of a document?
Yes. Share the whole document, some pages, or only some details, like your name and photo, or that you’re over 18.
Can I take a document back after sharing it?
The shared copy stops opening on its own at its end date, or end access sooner: the copy is deleted and the link stops working at once. A copy someone already downloaded, printed or photographed stays with them. That’s why their name goes across it by default.
How do expiry reminders work?
Unidy finds the expiry date on many documents when you add them, and you can set one on any document. The reminder then arrives on its own, by app notification and email: 6 months before by default, or as far ahead as you choose.
Is my document read by an outside AI?
No. Unidy reads a new document on its own servers to find its type and expiry date. It is never sent to an outside AI or text-reading service.
Does a photo I add keep the location where it was taken?
No, by default. When you add a photo, it is straightened, made smaller, and the location saved inside it is removed.
What happens if I run out of space in Unidy?
No document is deleted or locked. Every document you keep stays. To add new ones, delete some you no longer need, or add more space as an optional extra.
Can my partner see our documents too?
If you choose. Share a document with your partner’s Unidy, and decide whether they can view it, edit it or share it. Remove them, and their access ends at once.
Is keeping and sharing documents free?
Yes. 1 GB of space, reminders, sharing and the record of openings are free, for good. More space is an optional extra.
